More than 900,000 MultiSport cards – including over 100,000 on foreign markets

  • In the third quarter of 2017, the Benefit Systems Group once again increased the sales of its flagship product, namely the MultiSport cards, the total number of which exceeded 900,000.
  • The sales revenues of the Benefit Group in the 3 quarters of 2017 increased by 29.3% to reach the level of nearly PLN 700 million. The net profit in that period amounted to PLN 70.1 million and was 31.7% higher on a year-on-year basis.

The Group’s positive results were influenced primarily by the effective use of market potential associated with the growing popularity of a healthy and active lifestyle. At the end of September this year, the MultiSport cards had 913,600 users (808,000 in Poland and 105,600 on foreign markets – in the Czech Republic (approx. 62,000), Bulgaria (37,700) and Slovakia (5,900). The increase in the number of sports cards in Poland in the 3rd quarter of 2017 compared to the 2nd quarter of 2017 is partly related to the successful campaign of building user loyalty during the holiday period.

The revenues of the Sports Card segment (the sale of cards in Poland) in the three quarters of 2017 amounted to PLN 536.7 million and were 17.9 percent higher compared with the three quarters of 2016, whereas the revenues of the Foreign segment (aggregated results of the companies from the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Bulgaria) over that period amounted to PLN 62.1 million, which represents more than a twofold increase year-on-year.

For a few years now, the Benefit Systems Group has been directly investing in the development of the fitness industry in order to provide a suitable sports infrastructure to the growing number of MultiSport card users. As part of these activities, in the three quarters of 2017, the companies managing the fitness clubs opened up 32 new facilities and ran a total of 143 clubs in Poland and 11 abroad (in the Czech Republic and Bulgaria). In the period at hand, the Fitness segment generated PLN 123.5 million in sales revenues.

The Cafeteria segment, i.e. the MultiKafeteria and MyBenefit platforms, responsible for the distribution of additional non-wage employee benefits in the areas of sport, culture and tourism, recorded an increase in the number of users in the three quarters of this year to 275,500. The turnover on the cafeteria platforms in that period amounted to a total of PLN 165.5 million, which represents a 25% increase year-on-year.
