In 2018 Benefit Systems, as the first public company in Eastern and Central Europe, received B Corp certificate. Benefit Corporation is a community of organisations which have corporate social responsibility inscribed in their business model, get involved in solving most important social problems and have a partner and ethical model of cooperation with all their stakeholders at their base. Worldwide, there are nearly 2,700 companies operating in 150 sectors which have met the B Corp certification requirements and have been recognised by the international non-profit organisation, B Lab. At the moment (January 2019) Benefit Systems is the only Polish company which has received B Corp certificate.
During the certification process, B Lab runs a thorough analysis of how the company and its surroundings function. In order to receive the certificate, a company has to get a specific number of points in five categories: corporate governance, employment policy, impact on local communities, customer relations and the environmental protection. The condition for certification is not only a declaration of actions but also presenting documents that confirm the results of undertaken initiatives and their long-term character in the company’s business strategy. Among others, Benefit Systems received best results in employment policy analysis, community support index and the environmental protection area. Fit Invest, a company that belongs to the Benefit Systems Capital Group, as well as foreign subsidiaries operating in the Czech Republic, Bulgaria and Slovakia have also gone through the certification process.
