Increase in sales revenues in Poland and abroad – Benefit Systems publishes the results for the first half of 2017

Warsaw, 24 August, 2017 – The Benefit Systems Group completed the first half of the year with good results in Poland and on foreign markets. The Group increased its sales revenues by 28.4 percent, up to PLN 458 million. The net profit per dominant shareholders amounted to PLN 37.1 million and was 42.2 percent higher than in 2016. The number of sports cards in this period reached the level of nearly 900,000.

The results of the Group in the period at hand were influenced by the effective use of market trends – in Poland, it was primarily the constant popularity of an active lifestyle and changes on the labour market requiring employers to provide increasingly attractive offers for employees, while on the foreign markets – the increasing popularity of the MultiSport Programme and the growing sports offer for card users.

In June of 2017, the MultiSport cards had over 803,000 users in Poland and nearly 96,000 on foreign markets – nearly 55,000 in the Czech Republic and 41,000 in Bulgaria and Slovakia. The revenues of the Sports Card segment (the sale of cards in Poland) amounted to PLN 356.2 million and were 17.5 percent higher compared with the same period of 2016. In the first half of the year, a dynamic growth in the sales revenues was recorded by foreign companies responsible for the distribution of the MultiSport cards in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Bulgaria – these companies reached a total of PLN 38.6 million in sales revenues, which represents a 132.2 percent change year-on-year.

In order to provide an attractive sports infrastructure to the growing number of MultiSport card users, in the first half of the year, the Benefit Systems Group expanded its strategy for supporting the development of the fitness industry by foreign markets, by purchasing two clubs in the Czech Republic and two in Bulgaria. The Fitness segment generated nearly PLN 78 million sales in revenues.

The Cafeteria segment, i.e. the MultiKafeteria and MyBenefit platforms, responsible for the distribution of additional non-wage employee benefits in the areas of sport, culture and tourism, recorded an increase in the number of users in the first quarter of the year to the level of 262,000. The turnover on the cafeteria platforms reached PLN 20.2 million, which represents a 23.9% increase year on year.
